What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

If you make a comment on any article or page on this website your comment, along with your IP address and email address is stored in the website’s database indefinitely unless removed by the site administrator.  Each comment is also checked for spam by additional plugins before it is posted – this means the data being processed by those plugins to help determine if any comments made are likely to be spam.

Contact forms

When you use the contact form on this website the data you share is sent by email directly to Julia Dando.  It is also stored for a period of no more than 1 month in the secure database behind the website.  We delete the entries in the database relating to contact forms once a month.

Cookies

This website uses cookies for traffic statistical analysis.  The cookies identify the IP address and the geo-location of each visitor.  There are additional plugins on some pages, for example the social media share buttons, which will track whether you are logged in to your social media accounts if you choose to use them.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

We use Google analytics to monitor the statistics of this website.  That data is held by Google inc on their servers.  We have ensured that use of this data is only used for statistical analysis and not advertising or marketing purposes.

Payment made through the payment page uses Stripe to process payments – the information that you enter on the payment form is stored by Stripe on their servers.  You can see Stripe’s privacy policy on their website.

Access to your data

You may request to see any personal data that we hold about you.  You may request to have any personal data that we hold about you deleted.  If we are unable to delete any data we will inform you of this and the reason why.
