We are all individuals and have unique experiences. Therefore our sessions will be tailored to your need.
I offer a warm, relaxed and non-judgmental professional relationship. This therapeutic relationship is like no other in your life. The time that we spend together is all about you – it is your time and my role is to be there for you and you alone in the time we spend working together. You will have my undivided attention.
It is important that you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor and that we both feel we can work together to build a good therapeutic relationship in order to facilitate change in your life.
I offer a 45 minute initial meeting and this is an opportunity to ask questions and see if we feel happy working together. If we both feel positive to go ahead we can then agree on a plan for further sessions, which is likely to involve a minimum of 6 sessions but can extend to accommodate your needs.
Sessions are usually weekly and 50mins – 1 hour in length, for both long and short term counselling.
We can work together by talking and listening and there are a variety of additional ways that we can use to help you explore and express your thoughts and feelings. This might include writing, drawing, sand, avatars, animals or nature-based activities. Our choice of activities will be determined by what you feel most comfortable with.
I also offer online counselling either by FaceTime/Zoom video link for those that live a long way away or who may prefer communicating through such mediums and can make use of virtual worlds, such as Second Life. I can also work with you to explore any concerns or issues that may have arisen during your usage of these or other online games and social media services.
